All Tuckered Out

My Dad called on Saturday and asked if Ty would like to come help him clean out the shed. Ty was so excited! All winter he has been asking Grandpa what is in the shed, and now he was going to find out. He couldn't wait to get up there. He was there for about two hours. Grandpa says Ty is such a good helper. They got the shed all cleaned out and even raked some leaves. Ty told me all about it when he got home. A few minutes later I came back out to the living room to find this..........

Wow Dad, you really worked the little guy over. He was so tired the living room table seemed like a good place to fall asleep. He was out cold too. Notice Cody in the backgound screaming and Ty doesn't even budge. I love that his little feet are hanging off the edge too. It was too funny! Thanks for the fun day Dad, Ty loved it!

We Just Got a Letter!

Ty loves mail. He talks about it all day. First thing he does when he wakes up in the morning is check to see if the mail is here. Our mail drops right into the house and there is a little opening next to the front door where Ty can get it. When it finally does arrive, which usually is not until 5:00 in the afternoon, he gets so excited. I usually hear a loud MAIL!!!!!!! He gets this from his favorite show Blue's Clue's. Lately I have been letting him open all the "junk" mail. He gets the mail out for me, hands it to me so I can go through it and find the ones for him to open. Then I give them to him. He has to take each one and sing the Blue's Clue's mail song, which goes like this:

Here's the mail it never fails
it makes me want to wag my tail
when it comes it makes me wail
MAIL!!!!!

This is then followed by this song, also from Blue's Clue's

We just got a letter
We just got a letter
We just got a letter
I wonder who it's from?

He also loves to send mail. All of the credit card applications come with a return envelope. He has to take these and find something to put in them. They are all over my house. The other day I had lost some checks that I needed to take to the bank. I looked everywhere and couldn't find them. I then realized Ty would have thought they were the perfect size to put in his envelopes. I had just thrown away a whole stack, so I had to go through the garbage. Sure enough, inside one of his envelopes, I found my checks. Today I found my library card in one. He is such a goof!

So thank you to everyone who heard about his obsession and sent him some mail. He has loved it! He gets so excited! I started taking a picture of him with his letters, I didn't realize we would get so many!

Letter from Grandma and Grandpa Thompson
Letter from Grandma Crosby
Letter from Grandpa Crosby
Letter from Cousin Sam
AND letter from Kat and Lily

Here is a video of his first real letter.
(Can somebody tell me how you put all the pictures together. I wanted to group 4 of them together, but I can't figure it out. HELP!)

Elephants, Who's and Leprechauns

I am off to Ohio tomorrow to visit my sister, but I wanted to get this on here before I forget. Ty got to go see his first movie this week on the big screen. He loves the book Horton Hears a Who, so when I saw it was coming out as a movie, I was really excited to take him. We went to Ihop the night before for dinner because Ryan was going to be home late, and little did we know, they were doing a big promotion for the movie. So Ty got to eat Jo Jo's breakfast, which he was very excited about and loved! Then the next day my mom and I took him to the movie. He doesn't even sit through movies at home so I was a little nervous. He did great though and when we were leaving he asked if we could come again some time.

That night I went on a search for green shirts for my boys to wear for St. Patricks day. Who knew that was going to be so difficult. I went to 6 different stores and couldn't find anything. So I settled for these, which turned out pretty cute. Ty woke up and I made him go in and pinch his daddy since he wasn't wearing any green. Luckily he didn't notice that I wasn't wearing green either.

Cody wasn't real excited about having his picture taken so this was the best I got. Our big St. Patricks Day celebration was eating Leprechaun pancakes, and Leprechaun juice. I just colored them green. Ty was a little disgusted at first, but then when he realized they tasted the same as usual he loved it. We had some left over and he was asking for leprechaun juice and leprechaun pancakes all day today.

It was so much fun! I love that he is old enough now to get excited about the holidays. I am sad I will be gone for Easter. I am taking Cody with me but Ty is staying home with Grandma and Daddy. So it is up to Ryan to be the Easter Bunny.

Clappin' and Splashin'

Here are a few of Cody's new tricks. Don't mind his messy face in the first one. I kept trying to get him to do this while I was filming and he wouldn't perform. He would do it great until the camera came out and then he would just cry at me. Silly boy. So I finally caught him, messy face and all. Ty is right in the middle of everything. He is such a helper! All of the videos I have taken lately Ty is talking non stop in the background. He makes me laugh. The little chatter box!

After watching that is it any wonder why I end up soaking wet after tub time. Cody goes CRAZY in the tub.

A Day on the Farm

Another 50+ degree day, and another day spent outside. This time we went to Wheeler Farm. It is such a great place! If you haven't been, I highly recommend it. First of all, it is free. Unless you want to do a tractor ride or milk a cow, which is 50 cents. Very affordable, and we have done it all, and it is a blast! Right now is really fun because they have a lot of baby animals. Ty loved the baby cow, but I couldn't get a good picture. The cow only wanted Ty to pet his back side, and it didn't make the best picture. Trust me though, it was really cute. We also fed the ducks and climbed in the tree houses. Both the boys loved it and I am sure we will be back again soon!
Ty was concentrating really hard trying to throw the bread over the big goose, to the hungry ducks waiting behind, but that goose was to tricky and he ended up getting all of the bread.
Cody just watching and sucking on an orange. I love these little net things, I can't remember what they are called but you can put just about anything in them and then the baby can suck on them without choking.

This was Ty's FAVORITE duck. (The cream colored one.) I didn't even notice until Ty said that. It was a very pretty duck.

Ty chasing ducks, luckily they didn't turn around and chase him!

I have decided Turkeys are VERY strange. I mean look at this thing, and then it kept moving its head back and forth at us. Ty thought it was funny.

Oink, oink.

This was my favorite part. I thougt these little lambs were so cute. Ty wasn't that impressed, even though I explained many times these were brand new baby sheep. There was so much more that I didn't get pictures of. Petting roosters, rabbits, horses, more roosters, and of course the tree house. As we were leaving I asked Ty if he had fun, and he told me yes, but asked if Summer could come next time. So it looks like we need to make another trip Dusty and Melissa. I hope you are up for it!

Lonely

I seem to have a post like this every year at this time. Two months into tax season and feeling like it will never end. It's Saturday night 9:11 p.m., the kids are in bed, Ryan's at work and I am here. Lonely and sad. Have I ever mentioned I hate tax season. Well, like my mom always says, "This too shall pass." I guess I'd better go do something to get my mind off of it. BOO!

P.S. Poor Ryan, Saturday is just another work day to him.

P.S.S. Poor Ty, who begged and begged his Daddy to let him go to work with him this morning.

P.S.S.S. Poor Cody, who doesn't know what's going on, but he loves his Daddy and wants to see him more.

P.S.S.S.S. Ha, just kidding, that's all of them. I'm done!

Ethan Hawke?

I had someone tell me today that Ty looks like Ethan Hawke. Ummm....he's 2. But I thought I would look him up and see who he is anyway. I was laughing at the similarity of these two pictures. I don't know if they look alike, but the pictures are similar. So I thought I would post it and see what you all think.

We {heart} Spring!

50 degrees warm? We think so! This last week we got a little bit of spring fever. We had two days at 52 degrees and one at 58! I know it doesn't sound that warm, but coming out of winter that feels warm to us! We took advantage of it, hitting the park all three days! The boys loved it. We forgot to bring the camera, and bread for the ducks the first two days, but the third day was the charm! That was our 58 degree day and it was so fun! We played at the park for about an hour and a half! Cody likes the swing, and Ty loves showing off for him. He goes down a slide and then runs as fast has his legs will carry him, detouring way out to the side to miss the other swingers, and then jumps to a stop right in front of us with a big smile on his face. I told him not to run to close to the swings so he doesn't get hit, and he goes a little overboard running about 10 yards out of the way to miss them. It makes me laugh every time. Cody laughs at him too. Then he starts the whole process again. Awww, we love the park! We can't wait for the warm weather to come again! Hopefully it isn't too far away!

Ty is getting too big! There isn't anything on this playground he can't climb on now. Scary!

ZZZzzzzz........

Believe it or not, this whole helmet ordeal is going really well. Everyone kept telling me Cody wouldn't mind it, but I didn't believe it. It's true though. He doesn't complain at all! The first night he had to sleep with it I was so nervous. I put him to bed prepared to be up all night. I fed him and laid him in bed as usual and then stood outside his door waiting for the screaming. It didn't happen though. He zonked right out, and didn't wake up until 7:00 the next morning just like usual! Unfortunately, I still didn't get any sleep because I was feeling bad the whole night. I just don't see how that could be even a little bit comfortable. I can't get over it. He is fine, and I am feeling bad. I can't wait for these 3 months to be over! It had better work, or I will be so sad I put my baby through this for nothing! Anyway, this is a picture I took his first night in it. I kept sneaking in to make sure he was okay. He sleeps face down which makes me nervous. I guess the little edge of the helmet gives him breathing room.
