He's Home

Here is the sign Ty helped me paint. Ty was sure excited to go to the airport. He couldn't really remember Uncle David, but he knew he liked him because he got to go to the airport to pick him up. No other place is packed with as many elevators and escalators. Here we are waiting.
and waiting......we had a little scare and thought we were going to miss him, so we rushed to the airport and ended up being an hour early.
Finally he came!!!!! Stephen went out to pick him up, so that is Stephen behind him.
Mom and David hugging for the first time in two years. I cropped this picture funny because I wanted to show Ty running to Uncle Steve. You can see the top of his head in the bottom right. He totally skipped David and ran to his favorite Uncle Steve to give him a hug. It was cute since everyone else was focused on David.
Ty and David. They have already become great buds! Ty was a little nervous at first but after spending all day yesterday with him, he thinks he is pretty cool. On the way home we stopped and saw the Joseph Smith movie at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building as per David's request. We hadn't seen it yet and it was really good. Ty and Cody sat through the whole thing. I was really impressed! It is so great to have Dave home. I can't wait to spend more time with him.

DAVE

I am so excited! My brother David is coming home on Thursday! He has been in Atlanta Georgia for the past two years serving a mission. I can't believe he has been gone two years! I can't wait to see him! He is such an amazing person and he has been a great missionary. I am so proud of him. He heard how much Ty loves to get mail, and so today Ty got a letter from him. It is one of the sweetest letters I have ever read. I want to make sure we never lose it, so I wanted to post it here.
This is what it says:

TY!

Sorry it has taken me so long to write to you. Being a missionary keeps me pretty busy, especially these last few months.

Ty I am so excited to see you buddy. When I left on my mission you were just a tiny little boy. You did not talk/walk or do much of anything but smile. I remember you would always smile and you were so happy. Now in just a few days I get to see you and give you a big hug. I will be able to talk to you because now you can talk and sing. Ty me and you are gonna be best friends. We are gonna sing and we are gonna play guitar together, and we are gonna play together a lot.

Ty you are such a good little boy. Your mom showed me a picture of you saying your first prayer. You are off to a great start. Prayer is going to be so important for you your entire life. I am excited to see you grow and become strong in the Gospel. I know that one day you will be an excellent missionary, and many people will look up to you. You have AMAZING parents who are teaching you well.

I am so excited to see you buddy. This summer we will be best friends. Just a couple more days! I love you TY, be good to your mom cause I love her a lot!

Love,

Dave

This is a picture we took a few months before he left.

And this picture was taken the day he went into the MTC. The new Ty and David picture will come in 2 days!!!!!!!!!!

Playin' Tag

I haven't been very good at playing this tag game, even though I think it is so much fun to read other people's tags. So, Emily tagged me and I decided it was time to join the fun. Here are "my needs" according to Google.

Becca needs.....
1. to find the sum of 34 108 and 46
2. to learn to move on
3. your prayers
4. a hand to hold
5. peeps, yo.

If you want to play type (your name) needs into a google search and see what your needs are. It is pretty fun!

"T" turns 3

Time flies! 3 years ago today I became a mom. My baby has grown too fast! This was our first photo together. He was just a minute or two old.
This is my "T' today.
(this is the most recent photo, but its not too good) He is huge! He has grown into such a sweet, smart, happy little boy. Here are a few things that I love about Ty:

If I am hurt, he always kisses me better.
He love music and loves to sing. When he is in his room for naptime, he sings at the top of his lungs until he falls asleep.
He is a motor mouth. He is always talking and asking why?
He loves to ride horses with daddy.

He loves to go on walks and hikes and loves to explore and hide and scare daddy with me.
He calls a motorcycle a "Cydermichael."
He says the sweetest prayers and always wants to say the prayer.
He is ALWAYS smiling!

He likes to "cuddle up."
He loves apples and can eat a whole one in one sitting.
He loves vanilla ice cream from "nielsen's."
He loves to read. He is very polite and says please, thank you, your welcome, and I sure can most of the time. ;)
He says he wants to tell me a secret, and then gives me lots of kisses, and then says, "that's daddy's secret."
He loves to help me make dinner. He loves his baby brother, but hasn't quite learned how to share.
He always holds Cody's hand when we go for a walk.
He loves his Book of Mormon stories and can recite the story of Abinadi.
He doesn't like movies, but he LOVES Blues Clues and carrying around his "handy dandy notebook."
He has an incredible memory and will tell me about things that he remembers from over a year ago.
He loves stamps and gives everybody one on each hand every day.

Those are just a few. He is and has been such a fun boy to raise. I'm just sad it is going by so fast. For his birthday he has asked for a new stamp, a walking train whistle, and bubbles. So far he has gone pretty easy on us. Happy Birthday Ty! We love you!
