Smile

I finally got Cody to smile on camera. It wasn't a lot, but I at least got a couple smiles out of him. He smiles all the time, but as soon as I pull the camera out, he stops. So this will have to do for now. Listen to Ty in the background, he was such a good helper.

A Sad Farewell

Ryan's parents left Tuesday for Tonga where they will serve an eighteen month mission. Their mission actually started on July 30th, but they had two weeks of training at the MTC, and we got to see them during that time. When it came time to say the "real" goodbye, it didn't seem real. It was so sweet to see how much their four boys love them, and will miss them. These boys who usually act so tough, and there wasn't a dry eye among them. Ty was the worst! I didn't think he understood what was going on. When everyone started crying, Ty did too, and he kept saying "Grandma back". It got so bad that when John tried to shut the front door, Ty was pulling on it trying to keep it open. It broke everyones heart. He loves his Grandma and Grandpa so much. While we are going to miss them beyond words, we know that what they are doing is very important. I am thankful for their example to my boys, and to me. I know that they are going to be amazing missionaries, and the people of Tonga will love them as much as we do. We look forward to seeing them again in eighteen months!

Car Wash and Horses

Ty had an exciting week! He got to enjoy two of his favorite things, the car wash, and horses. Every time we get in the car, Ty wants to go to the car wash. Unfortunately, going to the car wash every day can get a little expensive. So I decided to let Ty wash the car himself. He had a blast! He got me and himself soaking wet. The car ended up more dirty after the "car wash" than it was before. We will have to work on that. We had fun though.
This was his first try turning on the water by himself. He was a little surprised when it came out with such force.
It didn't take him long to get the hang of it. He really only focused on this side of the car, and really just that one spot.
Here he is proud of his work asking for more. He couldn't get enough of it. The next day, Ryan was taking our horses on a camping trip. He brought the horses down from Kamas, and they had to hang out in our backyard for a little while while we ran some errands. It was pretty exciting. We were a little worried one of our neighbors would call the cops on us. Luckily that didn't happen. It was a pretty funny sight.

And here is Ty getting a ride on Valentina. He loves horses as much as his daddy. He isn't scared of them at all, but that actually worries me a little bit. We have to really keep an eye on him when he is around horses. What a lucky boy he is!
